McKenzie | Newborn and Family Session

Beautiful little McKenzie was only a few weeks old when I photographed her and her mommy and daddy.  She was a perfect little model, sleepy when we wanted her to be and bright eyed when it was time to be awake!  This was one of those sessions that was almost impossible to narrow down.  My favorite kind of new baby sessions are relaxed and include the whole family.  Why not capture those brand new moments as they really are?  Although I think super posed newborn sessions can be beautiful, they really aren't my thing.  This type of session is exactly what I love!

Grant | A Personal Post

Our oldest son...the boy who made me a momma...turns 11 tomorrow.  Before we had ever seen his face, we named him Grant Isaac.  I always say he's never done a single thing the conventional way, and it's true.  He has never fit in any box and has always paved his own way.  He is brilliant and has taught us so much about the world and about ourselves and has made our family better and brighter. Honestly, I am humbled that God entrusted Stan and me with such an amazing child.  Happy birthday, Grant.  We love you so very much!

The Smiths | Family Session

I'm always reluctant to shoot in full sun.  In fact, I'm rather terrified of it!  Although I would still much rather always schedule sessions during the golden hour (the hour right before sunset), I am learning and growing as a photographer and figuring out ways to make full sun work.  The Smith family needed to meet me during the day light hours, before Jameson's bedtime, so we met at high noon and I was a little nervous!  But we made it work and used all that beautiful sunshine to our advantage.  The session ended up being really fun and we were all happy with the end result!

Thanks, Smiths!  Loved watching your family laugh and play together.  Hope to see you again soon!

The Greens | Family Maternity Session

Have I mentioned recently that I love my job?  Well, I do!  I seriously love my job.  And my favorite part is meeting and getting to know all of my incredible clients.  And as I build my client base, I realize what a small world it is!  As we chatted during their family session, I figured out that Sarah is actually friends with MANY of the other ladies I've done photos for.  It's amazing how everyone is connected!  And I have to thank my clients who pass my name along.  You really have humbled me with your recommendations and you're the reason my business is growing!

I met with the Green family at Manassas Battlefield and we had a great time laughing and talking and taking photos along the way.  They are expecting their second child and this baby is going to be surrounded by so much love!  Here are some of my favorites from our time together...
